Hit the North with Becks: Conference
“Hit the North Street Art Festival was established in 2013 by Seedhead Arts and the Community Arts Partnership, in response to vacant space along North Street. Now in its fourth year, and with the support of Becks, Hit the North has become one of the biggest street art festivals in Ireland, boasting an amazing line-up of artists from across Europe.”
The Black Box plays host to the conference element of the Hit the North concept. Thanks to Becks and Arts & Business, a programme exploring the inspiration behind Ireland’s greatest street artists and the regenerating properties of street art will take place from one to eight.
The day begins with a registration at one before we enter the conference session itself. The session is titled Why We Colour; five artists (KASHINK, DMC, Inkie, Le Bas and Andy Council) will discuss their work and the inspiration that ignites the spark for painting the world’s walls. From four until eight attendees can channel their own influence and inspiration into their own creative work as live painting is carried out throughout the Cathedral Quarter.
