Loop

Loop is a concept born out of the yearning for diversity. Jamie Nelson and Jamie Nevin are offering a laid back alternative to the usual dance stereotype, and you can enjoy the sounds of Dilla inspiration and Soul at Lavery’s from ten to two.

“What we find most fun now is not necessarily playing the freshest tunes, but more finding old gems that were not given enough shine at the time of release, and re-imagining it to a new audience. Most of the music we play from current artists is a testament to that too – referencing sounds of the past and giving it a new home in today’s landscape. The inspiration is to showcase a more diverse spectrum of music to the city of Belfast; to shine a light on the underappreciated genres.”

Joining The Two Jamie’s on their journey of diversity and development is one of Belfast’s hidden treasures, Kaidi Tatham. His sets of broken beats and soul have made him a subtle legend, awing audiences with his vast musical knowledge and incredible selections. It’s a meeting of old friends; The Two Jamie’s played alongside Tatham at The Menagerie before its closure, and his influence is evident in the hosts selections and in the creating of a laid back vibe.

Tickets on the door are at five pounds all night. Check out the event page for more information.
