Lumen 004: Machine Music

The latest instalment in the Lumen series introduces the rise of the machines. An immense line up of human operators dish out the noise whilst Belfast’s leading creative collective, Guerrilla Shout, provide the intense and immersive visuals for an event that promises to blow you away.

Leading the line up is R&S Records signee and Noise Manifesto founder Paula Temple. Her debut Colonized EP is something to be admired’; a statement in heavy techno. In addition to this Temple co-developed the live performance midi controller MXF8, one of the first pieces of tech of its kind, which she implemented on her Mind and Machine tour years later. Her live hybrid sets have become legendary, expect huge kicks and relentless movement.

Joining Temple will be UK producer Joefarr. A video has already surfaced online of Farr previewing his machines for Culture Night, and they’re loud. His Sense of Purpose album, released on Bloc, is a masterpiece and his latest Spectate EP attracted the remixing duties of experimental producer Max Cooper. We caught part of Farr’s set at the last ever Bloc weekender in Minehead, and if that’s anything to go by Belfast is in for a treat.

Lumen 004: Machine Music takes place at Villa and tickets are now at ten pounds on third release. If you fancy an installation preview, you can check out the venue from six to half nine completely free of charge. If mad lights and heavy kicks is what you’re after however, then snap up your ticket soon as the last three Lumen events have sold out. You can purchase a ticket here.

Check out the event page for more information.
