Six great drum machines for under £400
1. ElecTribe ER-1
Korg (£200)
Used by artists such as Underworld and Legowelt, the ER-1 has now established itself as a classic in its own right, while also being one of the most unique drum machines ever made.
The unit is known for its ability to create digital sounding beats, while also being described as glitchy and analogue. The ER-1 only offers one kit, however it can be extremely versatile, allowing you to record automation in patterns. Unfortunately the machine has been discontinued, but only requires a Google search to find a second hand sale.
