Kim Ann Foxman – Open The House EP

New Yorks Kim Ann Foxman had a welcomed reception upon the announcement of her newly launched Firehouse imprint. After a wealthy catalogue that includes collaborations with Maya Jane Coles, and releases on labels such as Need Want and Rush Hour Records. It’s nice to see the talented producer journey into a more controlling role.
The five track player comes in strong, with straight up house cuts delivering the goods. Eli Escobar see’s himself being recruited for not one, but two impressive remixes. Titled ‘Super New Yorky Mix’ it’s a wonderfully colourful and up tempo mix, the use of pitched vocals and exotic percussion create a real sense of honesty and rhythm.
