Interview: Gamper & Dadoni

 

We caught up with Hamburg’s Gamper & Dadoni. The young German duo have taken SoundCloud by storm, having gathering several million plays due to their unique ability to master remixes.

Your SoundCloud has seen a huge surge of plays, with many of your remixes now featuring over 1 million plays, definitely a big achievement?

Max

Yeah! We are very happy how things are moving the last two years. Its great to see people listen to our music so often. This gives us strength to continue doing music.

Daniel

It is definitely a big achievement, yes! We never expected that we get so much attention and support from all over the world in such a short period of time. Just amazing!

Your remix of Claptone’s ‘No Eyes’ is our favourite work from you, do you have a specific track you prefer above the others?

Max

I prefer Blind Faith & our Aston Shuffle Remix!

Daniel

I also like the ‘Aston Shuffle – Tear it Down’ Remix very much. If i also had to pick a second song i would choose our Bulletproof Remix.

Blind Faith saw a big milestone in your original productions, can you explain the inspiration behind the track and how it came to be?

Max

We just heard the voice of Paul Cook and needed to work with him. We invested a lot of time into this production and the result is fantastic in our opinion. A very good track to build future production on.

Coldplay.

I would love to produce a track with Mark Ronson. I think his funky elements combined with our musical style would be a fantastic combination!

Can you reveal any plans you may have for the future?

Max

We are working on a lot of original tracks at the moment, but we are still searching for the last 10 % to finish them. Since we are pretty much perfectionists, everythig has to be „top notch“. But we will start releasing them soon!

Daniel

Besides our Gamper & Dadoni project we also have our own Record Label MGM Records. Where we give young artists a platform to distribute their own music and try to help them to increase their fanbase. This is definetly also one of our projects we will keep working on a lot in the future.
