Premiere: SMOKI – Don’t Think EP

2014 saw London label OneFold deliver cuts from artists such as Rich Pinder, AndMe. and Billy Kenny. They now prepare for a huge 2015, with an array of releases set to emerge over the next set of months, we’re excited to see how the label gets on. SMOKI’s ‘Don’t Think EP’ is currently turning heads, the two tracker comes in the form of ‘Don’t Think’ and ‘Into You’. First up on the player is ‘Don’t Think’, a heavy hitter that guarantees a memorable moment in any set or playlist. It’s dark bass and uplifting pianos contrast impressively, while the vocal glides along the top of the drums. ‘Into You’ is much more reclusive, skippy drums and garage-y basslines offer a more relaxed experience, sampling the classic Disclosure top line, it adds a gentle touch of dirt that brings a character to the melody and well placed vocal chops.
