Premiere: Pig&Dan – The Saint (Job San) (DJ Boris Remix)

Rating: 8.5

Techno duo Pig&Dan’s Modular Baptism received rave reviews for its hands on, experimental approach, and now the record is getting the unreleased remix treatment from DJ Boris and Elevate favourite Vinicius Honorio.

Premiering on Soundspace we have DJ Boris’ remix of one of the LP’s lead tracks, ‘The Saint (Job San)’. Boris musical heritage stretches as far back as the eighties, where his first experiences of the spirituality of the club came courtesy of Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage.

Years later Boris would go on to become a resident at Panorama Bar’s first embodiment, where he developed a loving fan base due to his extended sets, not only taking place in Panorama Bar, but in almost every club in Berlin.

Boris’ rendition of ‘The Saint (Job San)’ begins in typical fashion. Steady techno shifts up through the gears before movement provoking synths cause your body to shift. Intriguing sound can be heard amongst the backdrop as the piece continues to evolve. Soulful vocals are implemented, giving the track a human touch, right before that relentless bassline takes you once more.
