Notize, real name Emil Præstegaard, is a 21 year old Scandinavian producer hailing from the Northern region of Denmark. Exposure to electronic music began at a very young age, five in fact, from his older brother, sparking an interest in minimal house and techno through the sounds of Sebastian Leger, Dubfire and Booka Shade.

Since these humble beginnings Notize has gone on to experiment with sound, first through Fruity Loops, and then with his very first version of Ableton. Now the Dane has racked up releases on such imprints as Nervous, Armada, Subjekt and Ein2.

Notize’s latest work, ‘Hush’, is an illustration of how the young producers sound has matured since that first exposure to the world of electronic music. A steady bassline creeps forward as synths pierce their way through a sheet of euphoria. Techno-logic sound can be distinguished, malfunctioning as the track ventures down a spacey route. A periodic pause offers an opportunity for rest, before Notize’s minimal influence comes to the forefront with a carefully crafted finale.

‘Hush’ is out on Ein2 on October 10th.
