German techno duo Teenage Mutants have been at the forefront of their countries techno scene for a few years now, thanks to their well polished, unrelenting, and dancefloor-focused brand of darkened techno.
Their past releases have made appearances with a number of top labels in the genre, including the likes of Filth On Acid, Set About, TRAGEDIE, Riot Recordings, and 1605.
Having already seen several of their productions surpass the one million plays mark on Spotify and YouTube, the pair are now one of the most in-demand names for European techno labels.
We welcome Teenage Mutants to this months edition of our Fresh Picks series, where they put the spotlight on new and exciting tracks from Oliver Huntemann, ANNA, Shaun Moses, and Ilario Alicante. Get the full list, including words from Teenage Mutants themselves, below.
HI-LO – Hypnos
Release: November 5th
“Oliver Heldens delivers really high quality peak time techno tracks with his new project HI-LO. We also love his EP on Filth On Acid. Hypnos is a true floor filler. If you wanna get a party started it is the right track. Amazing to see that his EDM skills won’t affect his love for techno. More please Mr. Heldens!”
Oliver Schories – Devon (Oliver Huntemann Remix)
Label: Ritter Butzke Audio
Release: November 26th
“Our good friend Oliver Huntemann created a really outstanding piece of techno here. The melodies and baseline are typical for his sound, simple and effective. They will conquer your head and won’t leave it so fast. A true masterpiece. It reminds me of his older productions. I hope he will be addicted to this great style for his future stuff.”
Ilario Alicante – Rave Soul
Release: November 12th
“We really love the musical journey which Ilario is taking. From harder and straighter sounds to more emotional and groovy techno stuff. Amazing. Rave Soul shows this development from the first seconds, with a good drum groove and then a heavy rolling baseline. Just like we love it. Really excited for his next releases in 2022. Hopefully we do not have to wait too long.”
Aardy & Shaun Moses – Mixes Signals
Label: Senso Sounds
Release: November 12th
“Aardy delivers another heavy techno tool with his buddy Shaun Moses. The bassline and vocal cuts push the track to the limit. We played it in several clubs and the people went nuts. Simply insane. He has that sense for producing really workable techno tracks. Always for the crowd and the dancefloor with no excuses. We will definitely play this track in 2022 again.”
Orbital – Belfast (ANNA Techno Remix)
Label: Orbital Recordings
Release: November 10th
“ANNA is back with an old schoolish techno production for the big festivals. The ’90s chords in this track are on fleek. It feels like we are back in the ’90s with a fresh taste of 2021’s techno sounds. Really nice to see that she is also trying to find new interpretations for her tracks. She is always a big inspiration for us, musically and artistically.”
Teenage Mutants – Rebirth EP is out now on Filth On Acid.
