Ripcord lets you power your tech through your phone

Ripcord is a concept described as a “plug and play anywhere” universal adaptor that looks to promote mobility within music production.

Music gear can sometimes be powered through USBs, but most are still heavily reliant upon battery life; Ripcord maintains a tip adaptor set, this means it can plug into almost any equipment and produce power from a USB plug in, laptop or even a mobile phone.

So, how does it work? The Ripcord cable maximises the 5V that comes through the USB cable and comes in a variety of different voltage choices which go as far as 18V. This allows tech such as synths and guitar pedals to draw power through a phone.

Dublin based company MyVolts are edging closer and closer to their Kickstater goal. Backers on Kickstarter have several different options to choose from. A single cable is 14 Euro or a full set of the tech for 129 Euro.
