So who is Whitesquare?

Whitesquare

Whitesquare is a techno & house producer, who grew up between Rome and Tel-aviv! It’s a project I started about three or four years ago mainly focusing on the deep side of house and techno.

I started remixing (bootlegging) tracks that I loved and got a lot of positive feedback from it, from that point I began to work on some original productions experimenting and sampling until I got to where I am now.

Tell us about your ‘After Infinity’ EP for Culprit?

It all started when I got a request from Culprit to remix an Audiojack release on their label. I loved the label and the work they do, so I thought to send in some demos and this EP came about.

I make so much music in my studio, so I always try to play the tracks out in my sets and see what is working and reacting well before finishing them off. Something To Say was getting great reactions every time I played it – so I really wanted this to be the lead track for this EP.

And it comes with a Citizenn remix, what were your first impressions from his edit?

Whitesquare

Oh I loved it! Citizenn brought exactly the kind of remix the EP needed! A dark and techno’ish dancefloor sound – it’s been great to see it getting such positive responses.

You’re building a neat collection of labels in your catalogue, is there any you’re eager to add?

Hmmm Cocoon, Soma, Mule Musique, Studio Barnhaus, Crostown Rebels, Ostgut Ton, Innervisions – the list goes on!

What is the coolest thing in your house?

My kitchen – I just bought a new one, so pretty happy about that. Plus there is a fancy coffee machine in there, which is really cool!

And Rome must be a beautifully inspiring city for a creative?

Whitesquare

It is, Rome is an amazing place for gaining creativity. So much art and architecture here, feels like living inside a museum!
