UNER returns to his label Solar Distance to close out 2018 with an EP consisting of two alternative versions of his classic cut Palkyong. The original mix is licensed from Philip Bader’s label Out Of Mind, and the other a new rework titled 19 Version.
With a back catalogue including tracks featured on many leading labels such as Bedrock, Diynamic, Cadenza and Sol Selectas, it’s common to find UNER’s name spoken of as one of electronic music’s elite, and his new release is a testament to that reputation.
The original version of Palkyong, released in 2017 was a part of an EP that also featured remixes by Rob Hes, Christian Burkhardt, and Philip Bader. Its prominent synth lines and sequenced drum machine percussion gives it an eloquent yet electronic sound.
Keeping the original’s melody-rich sound, the reworked 19 Version has added new life to the piano part and looped congas sampled from a live recording.
True to the original yet with a deeper, more earthy sound, the new version has added emotion and is already proving popular with many DJ’s including Audiofly, Be Svendsen, and Acid Pauli.
