The Big 40: Till Von Sein

til von sein, soundspace, interview

Till Von Sein has become a lasting member amongst the Berlin elite. He’s released on SUOL, Pets Recordings and Dirt Crew, and has remixed top names like Fritz Kalkbrenner and Soul Clap. It doesn’t get more impressive.

The German DJ seems to be having his best year yet in 2016, with tracks already out on Moodmusic, Madhouse, Soul Clap and SUOL, as well as his Blacker Than Ever EP out this Friday for the latter label.

01. Where are you right now and what are you doing?

I’m in Berlin trying to stay calm before the game tonight: France Vs Germany.

The year Elvis died, 1977.

03. What’s the coolest thing in your house?

04. Worst experience as a DJ?

That one time this aggressive dude in front of me made leave the booth after 30 minutes into my set. I thought I’d check with the promoter in charge whether I should be concerned about the guy kicking my ass any minute. His answer was instantly yes, so I just bounced.

05. Best experience as a DJ?

One time a French kid gave me a note while playing in Berlin “Who are you? You should play here more often”.

06. Favourite record label?

Universal Music.

07. House or Techno?

House.

08. First record you ever paid for?

I want to remember it being Michael Jackson’s Thriller, but maybe it was Rod Stewart.

09. Studio or DJ booth?

DJ Booth.

10. Your dream collaboration?

D Angelo, Roger Troutman and Donald Glover.
