So who is Steve Mac?

That would be me! DJ, Producer & songwriter. I have been in the house music scene for 20 years. I was and am one half of the Rhythm Masters.

Your remix for Soultrak & The Cloudshapers is about to come out on Unrivaled Music, tell us your approach to the remix?

Steve Mac

I started with getting a good rhythm going. I Always work the drums n bass first then started cutting the vocals up to fit with the beat. It was made for the dance floors.

Is there a version of the track on the player you like above the rest?

I have not heard the other mixes, just the original. For me I would play out my version as thats the sound i play.

You also have a Dub Mix present, why two mixes?

Steve Mac

I think its always important to have a version with less vocals, that way you get many DJs supporting the track.

I really like cheese ‘n’ crisp sandwiches.

We caught a studio video from you with Future Music a few years back with a room packed with Outboard bits, did any of those make the remix?

Steve Mac

Yeah I love machines synths etc. I still use all my gear, for this remix it was mostly the emu sp1200 that I used.

What’s the coolest thing in your house?

Steve Mac

My wet room in my bathroom. I can stand under it for hours.
