BBC release Steve Davis documentary – Snookerstar DJ

Soundspace, Steve Davis, Bloc, Progressive, BBC

A documentary by the BBC on snooker player/DJ Steve Davis has been released as he embarked on his epic journey to Bloc.

The booking shocked many, but to their surprise Davis is a self confessed industrial techno and progressive rock enthusiast.

The invitation to play at Bloc came after Davis’s show on Pheonix FM, a show that he has been doing for almost a decade now.

Snookerstar DJ sees the cameras follow Davis from Brentwood radio station to Butlins in Minehead, the venue for Bloc. It also shows visuals of him spinning records and happily looking on from the crowd at other DJ sets.

The documentary also features a testimonial from arguably the greatest snooker player to ever live, Ronnie O’Sullivan and also features interviews with Kavus Torabi (his DJ’ing partner), his agent Barry Hearn and some of his adoring fans.

You can view Snookerstar DJ on BBC iPlayer, and if you fancy seeing the man himself, head to Cafe OTO on May the 6th.
