Berlin-based audio distribution platform SoundCloud have decided the time has come to offer its users verified profiles on the site.
Previously, those with a Pro or Pro-Unlimited subscription had an orange check mark display next to their username, though this has since been removed and will now be replaced by a blue check on profiles who pass a verification process.
The aim of the verified profiles according to SoundCloud is to “help well known artists stand out and maintain their authenticity, and to help listeners identify these artists more easily.”
For those who wish to apply for verification, head over to your settings while logged in on a desktop, applications currently take up to 30 days to review and if unsuccessful you can reapply after 30 days.
