Sick of cables? Use this modular synth for your laptop

news piece (softube edit)

Softube have followed in the footsteps of Berlin’s Native Instruments and their modular version of Reaktor, Blocks. The Swedish based audio software company have announced a virtual modular synthesiser that mirrors the hardware produced from Eurorack gurus Doepfer and Intellijel. The software is set to be released on the 11th of May.

The official tile is Softube Modular and will cost just $99. It features fully authorised simulations of the current hardware modules that are the result of a collaboration project between the two companies.

The plug in contains six Doepfer modules and over twenty utility modules that include mixer, delay and sequencer. Extra Doepfer and Intellijel modules are available as extras.

The future looks bright for cableless Eurorack brands as Softube have announced there will be additional hardware added to the list in the near future.
