Shir Khan, Exploited, Soundspace, five perfect autumn tracks, disco, black jukebox

Eclectic Berlin talent Shir Khan has become a renowned tastemaker through his Exploited Records and Exploited Ghetto imprints, as well as several album series such as Black Jukebox (which see’s the release of Black Jukebox Disco Jam 01 today).

His disco meets soul, meets deep, meets tech output has brought chart worthy productions from Claptone, Adana Twins and Sevendoors among others and it’s a serious hub for underground sonic gems.

We caught up with the Exploited founder to get his vision on five perfect roasters to warm up the Autumn months, and he definitely comes through with the goods. Read on for words from Shir Khan.

While most of us are already preparing for the winter time, I selected tunes that are very warm, melodic, tropical and dreamy which might not make you think of the cold (though we have a lovely autumn still in Berlin).

This is what I like to listen to when I am at home and these are also the tunes that bring me into the mood for my holiday in the warmth.

1. Captain Planet – Aguacero Feat. Chico Mann (Bastard Jazz Recordings, 2015)

I have always been a fan of the label Bastard Jazz from New York. They have been putting out outstanding – mainly funk influenced – 7 inches since the beginning.

They remain special until today – focusssing lately a bit more on the tropical side. This one is just a feel good tune and I cant wait to escape into the sun for my holidays playing this one out, to simply enjoy life.
