SevenDoors ‘Otec EP’

Sevendoors, Soundspace, Exploited, Otec EP, Berlin, Features, Deep House

Rating: 9.0

British studio wizard SevenDoors returns to Shir Khan’s Berlin imprint Exploited Recordings for a refreshing two-tracker. Coming with a similar sonic character to his previous productions, the Otec EP see’s Otec and Megaptera.

With premieres from Danny Howard, Pete Tong and Magnetic Magazine, it wasn’t long before the Exploited community caught scent of Otec, and it’s had an incredible reception. Seeing support from Dyed Soundroom, Joris Voorn and Laurent Garnier.

Otec opens proceedings with a vibrant mix of 80s influenced synth chords, extremely clean drums and a bed of emotive-flute-esque sonics that has our ears standing at attention.

On the b-side we hear Megaptera deliver a deeper cut than it’s former counter-part, with emotively chilling chord progressions that see screeching horns fight our audio cravings and the somewhat epic stand off in Megaptera break will no doubt have many crowds in ecstasy.
