Seminal Scottish DJ, producer, promoter, and label owner Mallorca Lee passed away last Sunday aged 51, following a recent terminal cancer diagnoses.
From Paisley, Lee was known for co-founding Ultra-Sonic alongside Rodger Hughes in the early ‘90s. The band released tracks like ‘Annihilating Rhythm’ and ‘Obsession’ – which were heavily influential in the Scottish and UK hardcore scenes.
As a solo artist he released music with labels like Flashover Recordings, Black Hole Recordings, Coldharbour Recordings, and his own label, MLXL. He also performed sets at clubs and festivals across the UK, including Northern Ireland’s Planetlove and Scotland’s Coloursfest.
