Samuel L Session & Van Czar relaunch the ‘Rilis’ series on Unrilis

Samuel L Session and Van Czar drop their new 4-track ‘Route’ EP to relaunch the Unrilis‘ series, ‘Rilis’.

The series previously focused on productions from Rino Cerrone, who is the Unrilis co-founder alongside fellow Italian Mario Manganelli.

Cerrone has now retired from the music industry, which leaves space for other artists to reinvigorate the ‘Rilis’ concept, which orientates around a more understated sound than the labels usual style.

This isn’t the first time Samuel L Session and Van Czar have collaborated, as the duo recently dropped an EP on Ben Sims’ Hardgroove imprint,  and they have also teamed up on Marco Bailey’s MB Elektronics in the past.

The EP features four original productions and opens with the tension-building suspense of ‘Air Raid’, which is followed by the rippling rhythms and darkened nature of ’18-022′. ‘Route 200’ has flickering pads and bleeping bass tones, layered with busy claps, while ‘Objectivism’ finishes the release with its bassline funk.

Samuel L Session & Van Czar – Route is out now on Unrilis.
