Q&A: And.Id | Mobilee Records

We got in touch with Berlin based Mobilee Records to get a chance to interview some of their artists. Thankfully they were more than willing and gave us the opportunity to interview And.Id. A Greek Dj/Producer who’s recently put out his first album with Mobilee, read on to find out more.

Who is And.Id?

And.Id

My name is Andreas Dimitriadis and I am a producer , live performer and dj hailing from Thessaloniki, Greece and currently based in Berlin.

You released your debut album back in June, how did you find the experience?

And.Id

It was a natural procedure, as after many releases I felt the need to present something more complete. Although It was an interesting experience as I had to deal with other issues apart from the music. I consider this album as a personal anthology of my dance productions so to do the track listing was challenging as I had to decide which of the tracks will fit in and which of them will not.

What can we expect from an And.Id DJ set?

And.Id

When I dj, depending the venue, I can go through all forms of House. I am heavily influence from organic sounds so you can expect some surprises. When I perform live, I play exclusively my own released and unreleased productions as well as some loops and ideas of the moment.

Do you have any advice for aspiring producers?

And.Id

Follow your vision, don’t copy, try to be innovative and develop your own sound.

Can you tell us a bit more about your And.Id & B.A.N.D project?

And.Id

AND.ID & BAND it’s actually a band project that formed four years ago. It consist 4 main artists/musicians plus some collaborators from time to time. The band members are Tasos Korkovelos on Keys/Synths, Francesco Paolo D’Andrea on Bass , Bill Bacharidis on Drums/Percussions and myself on trumpet and electronics. As an output we had our first release on Mobilee records with the Back to Back compilation VOL.4 couple years ago. We reformed some of the Mobilee’s most known track into Jazz compositions. Couple of other tracks also have been released sometime ago and there are more to come in the near future as the band is always working on new ideas in the studio.

If you could live in any country for one day, where would it be and why?

And.Id

I am traveling a lot and visiting many countries and the most of the times I spend a day or less in each of them. So I have to say that one day is not enough when it comes to choose a country to live.

Can you reveal anything regarding upcoming releases?

And.Id

I am currently working on some remixes which should be released November/December 2013. Also some new AND.ID tracks are on the pipeline including my next Mobilee record.
