Premiere: Tete De Tigre – People Who Listen To Music In Cars

Not many imprints see as welcoming a reception as French output Widad Records, sister label to B.YRSLF DIVISION. After launching with a label sampler that included Jam City and Yoin among others, Widad Records prepare to deliver their first full length EP.

Coming from fellow Frenchman Tete De Tigre, the three track Beaumont Club EP brings a sonically pleasing offering of acid house, disco, electro and funk. Pushing the boundaries of genre titles.

People Who Listen To Music In Cars, Sunset Delight and Spiral Shells make up this one, with the opening track getting a full premiere via Soundspace. It’s funkadelic aesthetic and crunchy analogue basslines bring a real sense of musicianship.

Also heard is a wide palette of warm synth chords, raw percussive hits and a strong dose of drum machine sounds that keep this one sounding chunky from start to finish. Tete De Tigre’s use of thick resonant synth stabs push towards the dance floor, exactly how dance music was suppose to sound.
