After a great 2014 that followed through on the success of her Demons EP on Purp & Soul. The British Shoot The Ghost now plants roots with Brighton’s Horizon Recordings, we bring you the exclusive premiere of both cuts from her Scratches EP. Having released with artists such as Paleface (who’s premiere with us is fast approaching 30,000 plays) and Cellardore, the small indie label has laid a firm foundation for the years ahead.
“Scratches” see’s Shoot The Ghost once again work alongside Kat Kyrris. It’s forward thinking bass line and slick vocals have a Shadow Child meets Ben Pearce vibe. It takes out pick from the two, setting a perfect example of UK bass music. “Crossed” is sonically similar, but with a much darker rhythm and the exclusion of a vocal puts it on the path of a straight up club track. It has a UK dubstep, garage and tech house infusion that frames British music perfectly.
Grab Shoot The Ghost – Scratches EP via Horizon Recordings, March 23rd.
