Premiere: Shadowchild & Bodhi ‘UM’ (MJ Cole Remix)

Rating: 9.0

Since the success of Shadowchild’s Connected series which seen him collab with Bodhi, Huxley and T.Williams, the UK producer has since revealed a two part ‘ReConnected’ VA.

“My Connected collaborations album brought together some of the most respected names in electronic music at the end of 2016, and I’m proud to present a giant of a remix package.”

The two EPs will see remixes of the original collab’s from Kry Wolf, Luuk Van Dijk and MJ Cole, the latter of which we have a premiere for.

UK garage and dubstep innovator MJ Cole has been at the top of his genre for a long time, remixing Dua Lipa, Chase & Status, Jess Glyne and Rag’n’Bone Man among dozens of other pop stars and underground names alike.

He also heads his own label, 892 Recordings and has been seen releasing on Disclosure’s Method White imprint. Though this time around Cole remixes Shadowchild and Welsh duo Bodhi’s ‘UM’ original.

Taking his usual relaxed approach to groove and harmony, MJ Cole shows off some expert percussion rhythms and warm keys, finished off with a little garage swing.

Shadowchild’s ReConnected Pt.2 is available 11th August on Food Music.
