Premiere: Ramon Tapia & Rik Watts – Snuss

GEM Records family member Ramon Tapia was introduced to Rik Watts during an event at Factory 010 in Rotterdam. Here Watts’ wide range of cultural influences combines with Tapia’s funk driven house aesthetic, providing the soundtrack to a healthy friendship.

Now the pair are preparing the release of their very first collaborative project on the Amsterdam based GEM Records. The Snuss EP has three tracks dripping in dark grooves and following previous releases from label boss Secret Cinema, Egbert, Christian Smith and Wehbba.

The funk of Tapia blends beautifully with a deep and industrial atmosphere courtesy of the well travelled Watts. Minimally streamlined with pummelling kicks and echoing synths, the title track selects itself as the perfect soundtrack to bring in those early hours
