Having impressed us with players from Nhan Solo, Mat.Joe and Martin Waslewski so far in 2015, Berlin imprint Mother Recordings once again brings the goods; this time in the form of Ordonez’s The Spell EP.

Coming as two seperate cuts: The Spell and How You Doing, Ecuadorian Ordonez delivers a tasteful hybrid of funky disco and ghetto house. We premiere closing track How You Doing exclusively in full.

Complete with funkadelic guitar riffs, sampled vocal chops and an array of chunky basslines, How you Doing brings all the ingredients to make a mark on summer 2015. It brings a proper hands up dance anthem, pushing you back with the tempered drums and pulling you back in with the melodic guitars.

The Spell does much of the same, but with a much more jazz influenced aesthetic. The long strung vocal and repetitive bass loop bring enough soul to last a lifetime; effortlessly making this one a future classic.

Get ‘Ordonez – The Spell EP’ from July 13th on Mother Recordings.
