La Decadance are an electronic music group hailing from Sweden, made up of the creative minds of Aron Estocolmo and Carlos Laford. After gaining worldwide recognition through airplay and media coverage on 2015’s Subway EP the Stockholm pair present their latest work, Ajar/Running, via Grabaciones Girubu.
Both tracks are originals and both are extremely artistically driven. Venture to the duo’s Soundcloud page and you will notice a quote from Pablo Piccasso in the description, describing the truthfulness of true art.
“We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize truth at least the truth that is given us to understand. The artist must know the manner whereby to convince others of the truthfulness of his lies.”
‘Ajar’ is described as an “ethereal gem”. The track is a symbol of the peculiar summer nights experienced in Scandinavia. The north of Europe experiences sixteen hours of sunlight a day during the summer months; the midnight giving way to rich colour. The naming of the track is influenced by this also, as when the sun does set darkness only lasts a couple of hours, whilst a tiny slither of sunlight can still be distinguished, almost like a door ajar.
