Liverpools Melé enjoyed a great 2014; releasing with Toddla T’s Girls Music, remixing Clean Bandit and delivering mixes to platforms such as I-D and Thump. With the inception of his Quadrants imprint, he now has a home to release his favourite tracks from himself and others. QUAD001 was a strong two tracker from himself while 002 brings a massive four track EP from London producer Callahan.
Fallacy EP comes complete with four techno meets house meets dubstep bombs, titled ‘Fallacy, Terra Firma, Murmur and Response’. We bring the exclusive premiere of Response, as well as the first listen of any of the four on the EP. Coming in at #4 on the tracklist, Response’s percussive bass tones smash through the mix, bouncing between the heavy kick drum and skippy, glittering hi hats. Our favourite section comes in the break, the use of long, alarm-esque groans, pitched blurry vocal chops and rinsing percussion leads into a pitch drop followed by a climax. It’s a no-messin’ club stomper, ready for any system that challenges it.
Grab the Fallacy EP from Callahan and Quadrant from March 2nd.
