Premiere: Black Girl / White Girl – Roll Up

black girl / white girl, strictly deep, soundspace

Rating: 7.5

Black Girl / White Girl is the result of two years of experimentation, resulting in an exciting form of club music that draws influence from house and techno. The Amsterdam duo have had releases on imprints such as Madtech and Toolroom and the versatile sound that radiates from them has led to a debut EP, Don’t Stop / Got to Release, released on Nervous Records in 2015, a piece of work that did not go un-noticed.

Pleasant reviews have sprouted from the mouths of Joseph Capriati, John Digweed and Nasser Baker whilst their global reputation consistently evolves thanks to sets in Prague and Tel Aviv.

The Dutch pair’s latest work, ‘Roll Up’, is set to be released on the Strictly Deep label on September 12th. The track begins with house influenced percussion as deep sound effects ripple. Things take an intense turn as the track begins to build, drums hammering down before that deep sound takes you once more. Each new element is introduced precisely and with care. One to surely fill the dancefloor.
