I’ve been aware of Lindsay Lowend for quite a while now, particularly from Majestic Casual & Fhinq Music uploads appearing in my YouTube feed, the young american producer is no stranger to being in the YouTube spotlight, with multiple uploads ranging in the 100,000+ range. He’s back again with a new four track EP, titled GT40, Sass Mouth, It’s George and Wind Fish. All four tracks are nothing short of awesome.
GT40 features bright pads, multiple vocal hooks and a fat bassline.
Sass Mouth features much of the same but is a bit more laid back, featuring heavily vocoded vocals and gives off a much more R’n’B aimed vibe.
It’s George starts off melodic and features a very progressive chord pattern but quickly breaks into what I can only describe as Sega meets R’n’b meets acoustic drum kit.
Wind Fish is perhaps my favorite track from the four, reminding me of a lot of the old-school Sonic The Hedgehog soundtracks, I love the video game style synth sounds combined with the modern drum patterns and vocal chops of today’s bass music.
If I had only one sentence I’d describe the Wind Fish EP as well put together video game inspired bass music.
The EP is out now on Kastle’s Symbol Recordings, you can grab it on iTunes via Lindsay Lowend’s Soundcloud.
