In less than three years, Danish DJ & producer KANT has successfully launched himself onto an international stage. With previous releases on imprints such as Toolroom, Kittball and One More Tune to name a few, it’s no surprise the level of attention he has brought to his productions.
He now returns to Germany’s Kittball label for an impressive two tracker that includes two originals and a heavy remix from UK producer Cristoph. Titled Widespread and Mesmerised, the two originals from this one bring that trademark KANT blend of club heaviness and warm disco vibes, while Cristoph expectedly brings a no thrills club monster.
Widespread brings a real sense of fun to the EP, having a similar progressive feel to perhaps a Ten Walls production. It’s wide bass and hands up brass riff create a huge sonic field, with the crunchy drums and light percussion filling only what’s needed.
Mesmerised brings a similar foundation, but with a much darker finish. It’s comes across as a perfect warehouse track, having the wide low end and in your face percussion to really push a sound system. Cristoph’s remix takes whats needed from the Mesmerised original, while adding his own traits to build a solid contender for peak time. His drums bring track two on this one into a whole other dimension.
