Kamilo Sanclemente, Juan Pablo Torrez, Giovanny Aparicio, and Mauro Aguirre joins forces for 'Theia' EP on Balance Music

The ‘Theia’ EP, led by Kamilo Sanclemente, and recently released by Balance Music in April is not only a celebration of the Columbia’s musical roots, but also a testimony of unity and growth.

Originally from Cali, Kamilo Sanclemente, Juan Pablo Torrez, Giovanny Aparicio, and Mauro Aguirre started out as colleagues and grew up together. This bond is reflected in the synergy of their collaborations, driving the evolution of progressive house in the group’s homeland.

Experiencing the world of electronic music from an early age, Kamilo Sanclemente found himself evolving from the multifactorial experience of trance to more sophisticated nuances of progressive house and melodic techno. Recognised for his ability to weave melodies which capture the imagination of listeners all over the world, his productions are frequent on the playlists of international DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren.

Also on the release, Juan Pablo Torrez, Giovanny Aparicio, and Mauro Aguirre, each with their own distinct and remarkable backgrounds, bring experience and a selection of modern rhythms. Torrez, one of the biggest names in electronic music in Colombia, has performed on major international stages, playing multiple roles in the industry as a DJ, producer, booker, promoter, and the leader of the Clubsonica label. His previous collaborations with Sanclemente, especially on acclaimed tracks such as ‘Mantura’ and ‘Leda’, anticipate the finesse that emerges in this new work.

With a career spanning almost three decades, Aparicio is known for integrating Latin and organic rhythms into his music, standing out in iconic performances at Burning Man and Casca Malca in Tulum. Aguirre, strong and dynamic, remembered by his deep house lines that frequently score on the Beatport charts, has also previously collaborated with Kamilo on tracks such as ‘Broken’ and ‘Oceans of Storm’.

The synergy between the artists cuts across their singularities, forming a collective worthy of a manifesto. The title track features a festive and modern selection of beats by Kamilo. Next up, ‘Space Distortion’ with Juan Pablo Torrez seems to really distort spaces in a frequency of elements that dance in metallic landscapes. ‘Essence’, with Mauro Aguirre, is sidereal and hopeful, driven by rays that light the way. Finally, ‘Redemption’, with Giovanny and Sanclemente, combines good vibes and deep melodies.
