Interview: Return Of The Jaded

Having just hit 3,000 followers on SoundCloud, Return Of The Jaded are continually impressing dance fans everyday. Their melodic and groovy brand of deep house have put them on such labels as Kittball and Kraftek to name a few. We called them up for mix #58 in our series, as well as getting the chance to chat with them about future releases, DJ support and some life facts!

So who are Return Of The Jaded?

Return Of The Jaded

A collaboration between Zoltan, Simon and Chris. We came together in late 2012 to start this deeper house/tech house project. We were all making different styles at the time. Simon was more into progressive house, Zoltan tech house and Chris was always into the old school deep house.

You prepped #58 for us, what can we expect from your mix?

Return Of The Jaded

This mix is practically a full run down of the many different vibes we like to listen to within house music. We have included some promos from Mile End Records, Kittball, This Ain’t Bristol, and some of our favorites at this time.

Soundspace

Do you approach a guest mix any different than a DJ set?

Return Of The Jaded

With guest mixes we generally include some more obscure sounding tunes and listening tunes. When we play live we tend to play more groovy danceable tracks.

Soundspace

Nora En Pure just supported your Touch Me remix, a nice feeling?

Return Of The Jaded

Definitely! It’s really cool to be recognized by heavyweight DJs such as Nora. It confirms that we must be doing something right haha.

Soundspace

We loved your collab with in.deed for Kittball Records, can we expect to see you on Kittball again in the future?

Return Of The Jaded

We love the Kittball family. There is a good chance you will see our name pop up in their catalog again. We tend to approach them with our more melodic sounds. Stay tuned!

What’s the coolest thing in your house?

An artist you feel will explode this summer?

Return Of The Jaded

Detlef has been getting lots of support this year. We think the Ibiza season will be a big one for him.

Soundspace

What can we expect from Return Of The Jaded in the future?

Return Of The Jaded

You can expect a lot of original underground sounding content. We are shifting towards more chunky sounding tech house grooves with a deep house influence.
