Interview: Niklas Ibach

 

When German sensation Niklas Ibach is not in the studio creating mountain sized productions, he’s in the DJ booth pleasing a crowd of a few hundred people, and vice versa. He took five minutes out to speak to us about his journey so far, how it feels to reach a million people and what the future will hopefully bring for the twenty year old. With the impact Niklas has made in the short time he’s been in the game, we can’t wait to see what more he can achieve in 2015!

So who is Niklas Ibach?

Niklas Ibach is a 20 year old Deep-House DJ and producer originating from Stuttgart Germany.

You’ve made a huge impact in just one year, do you have any previous history or training in music?

Niklas Ibach

I went to the opera with my mum quite often and also received a piano education, I have been playing it for 14 years. So I do have a little previous history, but no special training in music. At the end, only practice makes perfect in combination with a little luck.

Your Hungry remix is now at 1.6M plays, a crazy amount of people?

Niklas Ibach

Definitely. Its quite surreal. When I made this interpretation, I never expected it to have such huge success.

Tell us something we shouldn’t know about you?

Niklas Ibach

Even when I should concentrate on my studies and tune everything else out, I still make music. Like right now for example, I should really be studying for my finals. Don’t tell anybody though.

One artist you think will make a big impression in 2015?

Niklas Ibach

I think there will be another up and coming producer generation. For example Sam Feldt or Kungs show great promise.

Can you talk about any plans you may have for the future?

Niklas Ibach

Of course. In terms of producing I am working on a remix for Milow and I have some other projects like my first Single in the pipeline as well. Furthermore, I want to play some special gigs this year. Let’s see what the future will bring. Just check my social media for any news.
