Releases on labels like Running Back, Warehouse Music, and Of Unsound Mind, alongside bookings at spots like Circus and Sisyphos, have made Liverpool duo Matrefakt one of the UK’s best double acts.
Their own Attitudes To Life imprint has also hosted tracks from Denis Sulta, Lefblom, and San Proper, as well as music from themselves.
They handle our latest Fresh Picks feature, where they highlight a punchy house anthem from St. David, a big percussive low end from EJECA, and a great Cinthie remix for Mochakk.

St. David – The Screaming
Label: Hudd Traxx
“One of our favourite producers, St. David’s energy and consistency is something we really appreciate in his productions. This one is a little more laid-back than some of his previous work, but still has that same attention to groove and detail that makes his tracks so effective. A slightly deeper cut that works just as well in the right moment.“
William Kiss – Up N Down
Label: Gudu
“Another one of our favourite producers who doesn’t seem to miss! Back on Gudu again with another serious club weapon, ‘Up N Down’ is built around a really catchy vocal hook and a proper chunky bassline that carries the whole track. There’s a great balance between the stripped-back arrangement and the energy, making this one a guaranteed floor-filler.“
EJECA – TomTom
Label: Gudu
“The biggest thing we like about EJECA is the versatility and range of his productions. There always seems to be something in his catalogue that fits whatever time or occasion you’re playing. ‘TomTom’ has a raw simplicity to it, with a stripped-back groove that gradually pulls you in, but still packs enough punch to really work in the club.“
Mochakk – Da Fonk (Cinthie Remix)
Label: Nervous Records
“The simple nature of this remix is what works so well for us. Nothing has been overcomplicated, with Cinthie adding a little extra drum groove while allowing all of the original parts to breathe and shine through. It has that effortless quality that makes it really easy to drop into a set, and for us, it’s a perfect classic summer track.“
J.K. Rollin – Roll The Drums
Label: Cologne Archives
“This side of Kolter’s productions really resonates with us as artists, and his tracks work particularly well in our sets. ‘Roll The Drums’ is a proper groover, driven by a rolling rhythm and infectious energy that makes it easy to slot into a variety of moments. A great way to get a party started or keep things moving later on.“
Easttown – Once Again
Label: Haven Trax
“Consistently class, Easttown delivers again with his ‘In-Out’ EP. It’s hard to pick a favourite from the release, but ‘Once Again’ is probably the one we’d play the most. The energy is there from start to finish, with a groove that keeps pushing things forward without becoming too heavy. A perfect mid-set roller that keeps the momentum going.”
