Shine get their autumn parties underway on October 1st with an illustration of the diversity within the ecosystem that is techno.
The line up is very impressive. Drumcode mainstay Alan Fitzpatrick headlines as he dishes out his usual blend of heavy kicks and tough grooves. Fitzpatrick has enjoyed a successful 2015 as he has transfigured himself from an underground techno kingpin to a main stage player. Joining him will be regular collaborator B Traits, a producer who not only radiates forward thinking sound but has gone on to establish herself as a knowledgeable selector and respected radio broadcaster on BBC Radio 1.
So, that’s the main room sorted. On to Room 2.
Jimmy Edgar has become a favourite to the people of Belfast. His sets provoke intense, ferocious movement whilst also infecting the audience with a yearning to groove. He’ll be joined by Belfast’s very own Space Dimension Controller; a producer who has crafted his very own distinctive sound. His Orange Melamine album showcased an experimental dark side alongside his usual cosmic disco personality. We can’t wait to see what he’ll do come October 1st.
DSNT finalise the line up in Room 3 with their first Shine collaboration of 2016. We witness the Belfast debut of Leeds producer Happa, performing an extended set. At 18 years old Happa’s industrial style had already gained the respect and attention of Four Tet, Ben UFO and Loefah. Add a Rinse FM regular onto the CV and you’ve got a recipe for immersive destruction.
