Belfast born Ejeca first give the world a glimpse of his Exploris – perhaps named after the Irish Portaferry Aquarium Exploris – imprint in 2014 with a nice player from himself titled Nebula EP. Now after various releases from Chris Hanna and Mountainking Exploris brings us release number 4, a progressive ambience of techno, house and electronica from Italian Dema.
No More Time, Universal and Mantis make up the titles, with a full length premiere of Mantis coming from us. Dema’s Mantis, which in collaboration with Daron Callen brings a burst of rhythmic percussion, mellow bass tones and simple, tightly mixed electronic drum hits. A simple but effective recipe for the warm and ambient DJ set.
No More Time brings a different attitude with loud mouth percussion, wide bass hits and an array of vocal chops that fill the speakers. While No More Time could seem as the more extrovert cut on Voyage, it certainly isn’t the biggest; Universal brings a stadium sized techno banger that comes across as it’s been cut straight from the closing set at Timewarp.
Get ‘Dema – Voyage EP’ from June 8th on Exploris.
