Italian techno producer Clif Jack brings a new release via the Lowlita record label, which is run by Anna Tur, Gonçalo Miranda, and Hosse.
It’s a two-track EP which covers a range of different techno styles, as the title track ‘Don’t Tell Me’ is peak time techno with driving energy, and the second inclusion ‘Take My Breath’ is melodic techno with a haunting vocal.
This is Clif Jack’s debut release with Lowlita and it comes after a string of releases on labels such as Reinier Zonneveld’s Filth on Acid and Simina Grigoriu’s Kuukou.
‘Don’t Tell Me’ opens the release with distinctive vocals that inspired its title. It brings synth stabs and an acid lead which are driven forward by the flowing rhythm of the hi-hats. ‘Take My Breath’ changes the mood with deep pads and an emotive vocal which has euphoric undertones. It’s got a lot less energy, but instead adds immersive atmospherics that are built around solid percussion.
Clif Jack – Don’t Tell Me EP is out now on Lowlita.
