With the 2014 success of Huxley’s Blurred LP with AUS Music, it should come as no surprise Will Saul’s imprint have now decided to present us with a remix EP of track #1 off the album. Between the three remixers they boast past releases on AUS, Hypercolour, Man Make Music, Watergate and Black Butter to name but only a few.
Called up for remix duties is the Swiss Deetron, Bristols Komon and Londoner Shenoda, with all three talents delivering stellar edits we’ll no doubt see this one follow in similar suit to the previous LP.
Deetron’s mix takes our pick from this one, his ability to merge the emotive and warm harmonies of his own sound with Huxleys more melodic and UK driven style seems almost effortless. He does a nice job of keeping it simple, the vocal remains untouched, the drums carry a similar rhythm and it sounds like a natural progression from the original.
Taking a slightly different route is UK producer Komon, he pushes a more aggressive and modulated sound. The raw styled synths and arrangement are a work of genius, and this one has a solid pace for the afterparty headliner.
The last mix comes from Shenoda, the London pusher is expert in the techniques of heavy driven techno bangers and his I Want You mix is definitely no different. Massive squelches of acid are present, a cosmic kick drum bangs thoroughout and his use of vocal chops, reverbs and synth fx is flawless.
