On the 21st May AVA Festival team up with a pair of Belfast’s most prestigious party cliques, The Night Institute and Belfast Music Club, to present Dekmantel Soundsystem.
The concept is a result of anticipation. June 4th will see Rodhad, Mano Le Tough, Bicep, Optimo and a plentiful supply of other big and underground names perform at Year 2 of AVA Festival, so the AVA gang wanted to throw a party to get you even more excited than you already should be.
The warm up will take place at Aether and Echo, the adopted home of The Night Institute, the brainchild of Jordan and Timmy Stewart. Dekmantel Soundsystem are regarded as Europe’s elite when it comes to branching out through musical admiration.
Based in Amsterdam, Thomas Martojo and Casper Tielrooij are the creative minds behind the Dekmantel label, the highly regarded 3 day festival and the soundsystem DJ crew. The soundsystem clique, made up of Martojo, Tielrooij and Jan Van Kampen produce back to back sets illustrating their deep musical knowledge and offer “a tasteful and 360 degree take on electronic music that has truly helped put the Netherlands and its scene on the map in recent years.”
Martojo will be putting on a 3 hour set which us sure to contain plenty of underground gems.
It’s really a great example of how far Belfast’s electronic music scene has come. Though it is still regarded as an emerging scene there can be no doubt that it is firmly establishing itself as not only one of the most exciting communities in the UK, but in Europe.
