It’s been almost 8 years since German DJ and producer PAJI first appeared on the scene, and since then his music has found its way onto labels like 300 Grad Records, Einmusika and Kittball.

Having recently also delivered his debut self-titled album to Berlin imprint Katermukke, PAJI is now a fully-fledged artist that has a body of work any musician would be proud of.

We welcome him to our 40 Questions this month, where he mentions everything from climbing Kilimanjaro and his violin, to Robert De Niro and Henrik Schwarz. Find the full discussion below.

01. Where are you right now and what are you doing?

I’m in the plane on the way to India.

02. What year were you born?


03. Do you have a nickname?

PAJI is actually my nickname, Pajwan is my real name.

04. What’s the coolest thing in your house?

My fridge I think.

05. How would you describe yourself?

Just a normal guy.

06. Worst experience as a DJ?

There haven’t been really bad experiences. One thing which is really bad is when the sound system is not a good one.

07. Best experience as a DJ?

Happy faces and good energy that you get from the crowd.

10. First record you ever paid for?

Fugees – The Score.

11. What’s your morning routine?

Coffee first, go for a run and start to play and practice instruments.

12. Your dream collaboration?

Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

13. Tell us something we shouldn’t know about you?

Better not.

14. Who’s your biggest inspiration?

Johann Sebastian Bach.

Spending time with a person you love.

I think it’s not on what you give as a gift. The idea behind is more important.

Henrik Schwarz.

23. Worst job you’ve ever had?

Call Center Job. I did it for one week during the time at school and really hated it.

My violin.

Music, because it’s so limitless.

Too many of them.

A wedding in Bhutan.
