1tbsp self-releases new 4-track 'Joan' EP

1tbsp is the more club-focused side project of established Brisbane-based musician Golden Vessel, who is primarily known for putting out indietronica-esque studio productions.

The latest sound to drop from the project is his 4-track ‘Joan’ EP, which includes original titles ‘2007’, ‘Joan’, ‘Seasons’, and ‘Castillo’. With the latter inclusion being co-written alongside Sampology.

It’s ‘Castillo’ which peaks our interest the most on ‘Joan’, with it’s weighty rhythmic basslines and stripped back house drums, which together play host to a playful array of dreamy synth chords and pitched up vocal samples.

The EP was apparently inspired by his time running a club night throughout 2021, called Sumoclic, which runs monthly in Brisbane.

1tbsp – Joan EP is out now on Sumoclic.
