Hoffman – Serenity LP

It’s already time for Hoffman to release his debut LP with Slime Recordings, after we premiered ‘Choose Your Moment’ and ‘Suburban Playground’ and also had a chance to chat with Hoffman about the LP. It feels time has flown by since then. But then again, with soundtracks as good as this, time does fly.

The eleven track cut is impressive almost beyond words. As previously stated, ‘Choose Your Moment’ takes our pick from the album and with good reason, though it wasn’t an easy choice. Other tracks like ‘First Light’, or ‘Suburban Playground’ could have easily took the spot. ‘Choose Your Moment’ likely appeals to our taste a touch more than the other ten.

We like the approach taken by Hoffman to the project. Having vocalists featured on only four of the eleven tracks, he lets himself rely solely on his production quality and creative knowledge. His independent character also shines through across the player, a consistent blend of smooth bass tones and glittering percussion really brings a unique touch to the realm of house and garage.
