So who are Brodanse?

We are brothers Austen and Scott Smart and the duo behind Danse Club Records.

Your Miss Your Love EP is about to come out on your own Danse Club, tell us about the EP?

Brodanse

We wanted to keep things super simple. One original and one remix. Both are upfront, jackin tracks made for the dance floor. Simple, effective and catchy in a non gimmicky way.

and you have DJ W!LD on the remix?

Yes we have followed DJ W!ld for ages and saw that he had started to support the label – naturally we reached out to him and asked if he would like to be a part of it – the rest is history as they say!

Will this be the only remix we’ll see of Miss Your Love?

On this EP yes, however in the past we have had additional remixes done by artists who are really digging the originals – never say never!

Everyone from Saved to Toolroom has put your music on their catalogue, why did you feel the need to launch your own imprint?

With Danse Club we have total creative control and it is also about the music we like opposed to just the music we make. It is fantastic to be able to work alongside artists we truly respect and put together EPs

We are not actually brothers, just good friends. JOKE!

Who came up with Brodanse?

We came up with it together one morning over a few coffees – we wanted something with two syllables that said what it was on the tin. We swapped the C with an S to make sure we could have all domains etc!

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Brodanse

Probably still in the toy business which is where we came from originally.

What’s the coolest thing in your house?

Vitra dolls, Tracey Emin Paralympics artwork and of course Redfers, our world famous Cavapoo who has more instagram followers then we do!

What does the future hold for Brodanse?

We are making an album and we will be focusing on the label parties and really building the Danse Club name.

We have got a wicked EP coming out on Ray Okpara’s AMA Recordings in October which apparently he keeps smashing parties with!
